The Nonna Doula Retreat

Thursday, March 30 - Sunday, April 2

Reconnecting the Generations

with a Matriarchal Guardian

Welcome to the

Family Support Doula Certification

(CFSD)

The Nonna Doula Retreat weekend is a fast track model of doula certification specifically designed for grandmothers and other maternal family caregivers. This event will give you the skills to support your special loved ones as a doula, while also providing you with a unique retreat experience to celebrate your own rite of passage.

Doula Certification to
Support a Family Member

  •  Is your daughter pregnant and in need of your wisdom and support?

  •  Are you feeling called to step into the matriarchal guardian role, but need to bolster your confidence and skills?

  •  Do you need a certificate that allows you to be in the birthing suite with your family?

If you answered YES to any of the above, this one-of-a-kind retreat is for you!

Imagine spending 4 exciting days on a barrier island, surrounded by beautiful beaches, lush trees and like-minded women. You’ve dedicated this special time to nurturing yourself while deepening your childbirth knowledge.  When you've completed the program, you'll have the certification you need to be present with your precious loved ones during this sacred event!

Come and Learn and Play!

The Nonna Retreat on beautiful Hilton Head Island, South Carolina was created to teach you the latest protocols in doula care so you can be prepared to support a special mother-to-be in your life.

Get ready to be a Grandmother (or again!) and spend a weekend pampering yourself, while celebrating your own Rite of Passage into this beautiful new phase in life.

Here are just a few of the things you’ll learn during our special doula training weekend:

  • A variety of comfort techniques, including massage and acupressure specific to laboring bodies

  • Learn the Hawaiian "Ha" or breathe of life.

  • Optimal Maternal-Fetal Positioning and the "Baby Rotation Hula"

  • How to "pass" diagnostic tests and understand medical procedures

  • Create an essential oil blend, to add to your "Labor Comfort Kit”

  • How to navigate a variety of birthing environments

  • How to deal with difficult situations and unexpected challenges

  • Tools for fostering healthy family dynamics while providing loving support

  • Common complications and effective ways to prevent/solve them

  • Ways to support the postpartum transition for optimal mental health

  • Supporting breastfeeding and troubleshoot obstacles

You will practice gentle, liberating movements and sip nourishing teas while receiving expert guidance for transformative inner work.

And so much more!

Education + Fun!

You will be amazed as your mature perspective and strong ability to provide nurturing support to your loved ones comes into focus.

And to reward your hard work, we’ll PLAY!

We have some fun and insightful activities planned for you, including:

  • Thursday Evening Welcome Reception

  • Bike rides along tree-covered nature trails

  • Browsing (or buying) from cute island shops

  • Sunset dolphin cruise through the Low-country waterways

  • Pampering massage or facial at a luxurious resort spa

  • PJ party with self-care crafts and treats

  • White Party to celebrate YOU!

This will be one of those events where you look back and say "This was my life before, and this is my life now".  Mixed with fun and making new friendships, you will have a once in a lifetime, refreshing, inspiring and healing experience you'll never forget.

Whether you live across the country or across the street,

you and the next generation are blessed to have one other.

Research shows that with elders active in their family, children grow up to have more fulfilling relationships with others, greater resilience when facing peer pressure and less depression as adolescents. This is the beginning of making a positive impact for your family now and many generations into the future.
