Maryland/DC - Super Doula Combo Training

 Have you ever felt helpless and scared, wishing you had a guide to support you emotionally and physically through a difficult transition in your life?  Ever felt like your best interests were in conflict with the interests of a caregiver?  Maybe you've been taken advantage of, even lied to or coerced when you're most vulnerable?  These are the experiences that birthing families face every day - but it doesn't have to be this way.  If you become a doula, you can help prepare your clients and support them, giving them strength and a voice in times of vulnerability and uncertainty.

At this relaxing and fun workshop, we will focus on your success as a maternal health caregiver!  We talk you through start to finish, how to find clients, secure contracts and support those families through every twist and turn to a successful journey into parenthood.  You will be prepared and feel so confident and READY to get out there and make a difference.  What sets us apart is our passion for birthing families everywhere AND our doula students.  Your success means that our goals of positively impacting the world are being met.  We need YOU to help us reach across the globe and into future generations.

During the 3 day weekend, we will participate in group activities, enjoy learning about comfort measures, current protocols, mental and emotional preparation for clients, how to support a birthing body if an epidural is used, postpartum mood disorders, breastfeeding troubleshooting, special newborn care, essential oils, massage techniques, dealing with difficult situations, drink detoxifying tea and work on deeply transformative personal introspections.  Your perspective and ability to provide amazing service to your clients and prioritize self-care will come into balance.  You will practice gentle movement as well as how to utilize the Hawaiian "Ha" or breathe of life in your practice.  Another unique technique you'll find indispensable, is learning the baby rotation hula :) from our island loving trainer Anne, who has 6 kids, 3 of those births at home, a midwifery background and 29 years of experience as a maternal healthcare provider wearing many different hats.

Here is the lineup for each day:

Friday, 9am-6pm: Labor + Birth Doula Focus

Saturday, 9am-6pm: Birth + EpiDoula Focus (reducing complications if clients use epidurals)

Sunday, 9am-6pm: Postpartum and Lactation Support and Educator Focus

This enrollment is nonrefundable, but if you're worried you may miss a portion of the event, don't worry!  It will be recorded and sent to you within7 days after the conclusion of the workshop, so you can watch it on your own time, later.

The pricing is all-inclusive. This means it includes your Membership fees, Certification Packet fees, as well as the cost of the Workshops themselves, manual, extra materials like teaching kit, tools, gifts, etc.  This event is nonrefundable.  The only other fees you may encounter are if you need an extension.  You will also have a list of books to work through, purchased by you separtely in whatever form you prefer (e-book, audiobook, or paper).  Otherwise everything you need to get certified is included in this one workshop enrollment time fee.  Enrollment in this workshop gets you into Labor Doula (CLD), Postpartum Doula (CPD) and Lactation Support and Educator (CLSE) certification programs.  There are a number of assignments to complete in order to gain your credentials.  This workshop is one of those assignments.  For the complete list of assignments for our credentialing programs, you can go here:  https://www.maternitywise.com/certification-programs

You can also utilize a payment plan. Just pay the DEPOSIT ticket below and someone will be in touch to assist you in setting up a weekly or bi-weekly plan to pay the remainder.
