About the event

Get to know the fundamentals of newborn sleep biology: their physiological needs, the natural rhythms that drive them, their development as learning, growing individuals; and how you can support and shape their sleep patterns.

Brain scans of infants show that there is damage and diminished frontal cortex development in babies who are left to cry - it affects them the same way other traumas affect young brains.  One day these babies will grow into adults.  Studies show that there are many negative, long term effects that these "sleep fads" like crying it out can cause.  Crying it out is not appropriate for newborns and early infants, and perhaps it is never really appropriate for anyone of any age.  In fact, in some fields of psychology, it is considered neglect and borderline abuse.  Yet there are many "experts" who still give this advice to exhausted parents - mainly because they don't…
