My name is April Tvinnereim. I'm wife to my beloved Tyson, and mother of 5 beautiful daughters. I have a passion for new moms, with a desire to help them adjust to the new addition(s) to their family. This is such a precious time for mother and baby and my deepest hope is that as I serve families, I am also strengthening them.
I would like to offer you special care during the postpartum period. This includes caring for you and your baby at home during the weeks that follow delivery and includes help with breastfeeding, newborn care, information resources, light housekeeping, shopping, and childcare.
This is especially helpful if you are recovering from a cesarean section.
My Qualifications:
- I've birthed 5 children of my own, our littlest was born at home.
- Founder of MaternityWise Postpartum Doula program.
- Inductions with all but last 2 (so I understand inductions)
- Forceps with first
- Epidural with all but last
- Back labor with all 5
- Completely natural birth with the last baby with the help of a homebirth midwife
- I have my Associate of Applied Science in Medical Assisting From Argosy University (formely Medical Institute of MN) in Oct. 2002
- I have worked at as a Medical Assistant at MDCare in Minnetonka, Minnesota
- I worked at Edina Family Physicians as a Medical Assistant/Receptionist in Edina, Minnesota
- I've done clinical training in Lab and Medical Assisting with 320 hrs of training
- I hold CPR/First Aid certification.
- Breastfed all 5 babies.....Nursing since 1996, total 10yrs almost..whoa! Familiar with demand/supply as well as problems with latching on
I feel that my eyes have been opened to the "old ways" of birthing and have come to realize that birth is a natural process not a procedure that women and their families go through. I want to help mothers, their spouses and families, enjoy this special time in their lives.
More Information About Myself:
I have a strong faith in Christ that has impacted my life, and helped me to really enjoy the role of a servant in the lives of families. I see what a far-reaching role this plays, as a societies' health centers around the health of the family, beginning with the mother and newborn.
Postpartum doula services are available at the rate of $15 per hour.
We moved from the cities in 2005 to Litchfield,
I also work in surrounding areas such as Hutchison, Willmar, Atwater, Grove City, Darwin, Dassel. I'm willing to travel within 25-30 miles outside of Litchfield, so please just ask.
This work is my ministry
and I feel that I've been called to this special area of service.
