Bonding with your baby


Things you can do to help you bond...

• Wear your baby. Slings are one of the best ways to keep your baby close. When used properly they are safer than other types of carriers.
  
• Breastfeeding is not only good for bonding, but it helps prevent certain cancers in the mother, and no other food or formula can come close to having the same benefits for your baby!
  
• Bathe with your baby. What a precious time that can be.
  
• Lotion/Infant Massage after bath-time can connect mother/father and baby like nothing else.
• Skin to skin contact is so important, especially in the first years of a child's life. It raises their immune response. So daddies and mommies laying with diapered baby, skin to skin on your chest is very soothing to your baby.
• Sleep with your baby.
  
• Enjoy plenty of face to face playtime, talking with your baby, singing with your baby, looking into his/her eyes and touching.
